On December 11, 2013, Santa Cruz singer and songwriter Russ Leal of Extra Large, came into KZSC and spoke with Nada Miljkovic of Artists on Art about the history of his feel good happy vibration music and band. The band will be playing at the Crow’s Nest for New Year’s Eve 2014 Party.
SambaDá came into KZSC December 18, 2013 to talk with Nada Miljkovic on Artists on Art and perform. SambaDá will be playing at Moe’s Alley December 27, 2013 and the next night in San Francisco at the Chapel.

December has been flying by. Time seems to be faster than usual. We’ve had some great shows featuring a lot of live music performances.

On November 28, 2013, dancer and Executive Director of the 418 Project, Laura Bishop spoke to Nada Miljkovic on Artists on Art in the KZSC radio studio about the upcoming, Incandescence, Black Tie Black Light 20th Year Anniversary Gala Event happening December 7, 2013.
This Gala event will have food by India Joze, music by SambaDá, and dance performances by the 418 Project Performers that includes Aerial Dance, Contact Improv, Blues Dance and a LED Hoop Performance.
The 418 Project is located at 418 Front Street in downtown Santa Cruz and is a hub for social, ethnic and concert dance. We talked about how it began 20 years ago by Rita Rivera under the name of Santa Cruz Dance Gallery as one of the first non-profit arts center in Santa Cruz. It began with supporting a dance population that featured modern dancers, as well as artists including drummers and visiting teachers from Africa and Brazil. Soon after, Papiba Ghodinho began teaching capoeira. Thirteen years ago, Sunday mornings became sacred space when Dance Church opened its doors.Today, the 418 Project programming includes a variety of classes from Contact Improv to Hoop Dance, Samba, Zumba, and West African Dance.
