On July 23, 2014 local actor, artist, comedian,Greg Paroff came into UCSC’s KZSC radio station about the his being a Fringe Artist and hosting the Artist Interviews for this year’s Fringe Festival 2014,
Greg Paroff is Hill-air-ee-usss! Look for Greg around town doing his art, Shakespeare riffs and stand-up comedy. He did an open mic last night at the Bocci’s Cellar as a part of Santa Cruz Comedy Coalition. We’re hoping for an encore show soon because there were technical difficulties with his video. This 5th annual festival of dance from around the worlds begins with performances at 11am Saturday morning and ending at 8pm. On Sunday, there will be all day dance workshop for kids and adults for free.
On September 3, 2014, local artists, mother & son duo, Elissa Kline & Ian Janco came into UCSC’s KZSC radio station to talk about their work.
Elissa Kline is a fine art photographer who works as an advocate for wild horses working with Return to Freedom, a sanctuary in Lompoc. Elissa and Ian come from a long line of artists. Her Grandfather was a Dada artist and her mother and father were both artists. In Elissa’s former life, she was a recording engineer and studio manager in New York and LA. Then over twenty years ago, she began working with Carole King first as a her ranch manager and now as her photographer.
Ian Janco is a songwriter and musician who just released his album Stronghold. He had a cd release party at the ArtBar in the Tannery Arts Center, September 6th that was also a fundraiser for Guitars Not Guns Music Program.
