Local lifelong multi-media activist artist and advocate Daryl Tempest came into KZSC to talk about his company, Zazzle.com the Art Projekt and 0cog.

We talked about his work with ARTSPROJEKT, a curated platform that empowers emerging and establish artists and brands to connect, collaborate, and showcase original art, designs and ideas with fans and consumers. Daryl combines over 25 years experience with his desire to liberate artists worldwide. The result is the ARTSPROJEKT platform, a playground in which the world’s most creative individuals and brands can turn unique ideas into dynamic product experiences that best represent each individual artist and brand.

We also talked about 0cog Inc, a company Daryl formed, with partners, in response to working with great people at Lutris and the Santa Cruz way of life and a community with a deep level of talent. The business systems being built within 0cog start with the right to own Intellectual property and created the 401b contract which illustrates and declares, how and that, an individual can and should work to protect the interest of an employer and an employee. A win-win in this economy as a foundation for creating new startups and unleashing individual IP.

Here are Daryl’s three rules to teaching art:

  • 1) Give yourself permission to create – Create a pencil invention exercise. The more permission, the more creative breadth.
  • 2) Understand the create and destructive sides of creativity – Creativity as making something that doesn’t exist before – it comes at the expense of something else.
  • 3) Seeing the world that is not based a belief – the closer to an accurate view of reality  – the better it can be mastered and in creative pursuits ideas are the made from a pallet of other ideas.
