Screen shot 2013-01-14 at 10.31.54 AMElizabeth Stephens is an eco-activist and SexEcologist, UCSC Art Professor, UC David PhD Candidate,  wife to Annie Sprinkle, performance artist, and sculptor.  On January 3, 2013, Beth took time to talk with Nada Miljkovic for KZSC’s Artist on Art about her many upcoming works.

Screen shot 2013-01-14 at 10.26.04 AMWe talked about the exhibition at Jancar Gallery in LA presenting  a survey of vintage and current work of Beth and Annie’s work together entitled “The Collaboration” and runs January 12 – February 16, 2013. Hours: Wednesday – Saturday 12 – 5 PM (and by appointment).

We talked about her current UCSC class, Material Metaphor: Creating Meaning in Form, and the lecture series in conjunction to the class, The Earth as Metaphor. This free and open to the public lecucture series in Wednesday, 4:30-6pm at the Porter Faculty Gallery D222.

We discussed her movie, Goodbye Gauley Mountain: An Ecosexual Love Story about two ecosexuals (Beth & Annie) in love raising performance art hell in West Virginia to help save the region from mountain top removal mining through activism, art and a wedding to the Appalachian Mountains.
