Steven and Bonnie Barisof were on the Artists on Art KZSC interview show hosted by Nada Miljkovic for January 26,2010.  The Barisofs are local Santa Cruz pottery artists.

Also, they are the founders of the second annual event, Three Cups of Tea Santa Cruz , in association with  the Central Asia Institute inspired by Greg Mortenson‘s book, Three Cups of Tea.  The book is helping create a huge number of schools, particularly for girls,  in Afghanistan and Pakistan.  He helps those  communities that come to him and are able to build the school themselves.

Local Santa Cruzians can help with this urgent and necessary endeavor by going to the Three Cups of Tea, Santa Cruz fund-raising event February 11th at the Rio Theater and/or by being involved with on-line auction of art pieces that have been donated by Santa Cruz County artists.

  • Thanks Nada for the opportunity to be interviewed. It was a great way to spread the word about the event and the work of the Central Asia Institute. Before we left, we walked over to the Merrill Pottery to check out a kiln that I built there a few years ago. A few students were there and had been listening. When we started to talk to them, they said “Hey, aren’t you the people that were just on the radio!?” So, we were able to get some instant audience feedback, and it was very positive.

  • It was great having both of you on the show. I wish great success with your upcoming auction/fundraiser. Your work is inspirational, motivational, and extremely needed.
Thank you! It is my pleasure and honor to help.
