Graduating UCSC Art Students and recipients of the Irwin 2013 Scholar Awards, multi-media installation artists, Dmitri Zurita & Exhibition Assistant Heidi Cramer came onto Artist on Art to talk about their upcoming exhibition Irwin Scholars Exhibition 2013.

Every year, the Irwin Scholarship is awarded to twelve UC Santa Cruz art students hand picked by the Arts Division Faculty for their outstanding work and promise in the visual arts. Each artist works in a different medium from the other, making the artworks shown range from paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures, and works with mixed media. The opening reception is May 29, from 5-7pm with Awards Ceremony at 6pm. You can follow the Irwin Scholars on their FaceBook and Tumblr pages.

Included artists: Jose Rodriguez, Dmitri Zurita, Heidi Cramer, Noah Miska, Jessie Chernetsty, Lynora Valdez, Joanne Wong, Ethan Snyderman, Katherina Teague, Coleman Pritchard, Patrick Appleby and Christopher Cravey.

Dmitri is also exhibiting in the international student exhibition Crosssing Borders beginning June 8 and running through June 20, 2013 at the SOMArts Bay Gallery at 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco.
